Surrounded by 2,000-meter high mountains,

Okitama is a basin with many blessing from its nature.

The topology of the basin creates its own unique climate,

and the significant difference in temperature between the day and night during the summer months gives birth to vegetables,

and abundant fruits that are full of flavours; the namesake for Yamagata’s title as ‘The Fruit Kingdom’ .
